On arrival at your accommodation, you'll find a complimentary Scottish themed welcome hamper to help you settle in after your journey here.
Because we are in a very rural location, the closest shops might not be open when you arrive. So to make life that little bit easier, you can also pre-order a ‘Starter Pack’ for £10 (we’ll email you before arrival with more information). Your starter pack includes a selection of locally sourced essentials to help you settle in.
Something else guests treat themselves to is a breakfast pack, to really help you set yourself up for your first day of exploring. Supplied by our local butchers, you can pre-order and we’ll pop them in the fridge at your holiday cottage.
Hand soaps, Shampoo, Conditioner and shower wash are plant based and chemical free from Laura Thomas Co. are supplied in all the holiday cottages, along with a basket of handy items in the kitchen. These contain Ecover products including washing up liquid, Multipurpose sprays, washing detergent and dishwasher tablets. Black bags, cleaning cloths/sponges and a sewing kit are also provided.
Firewood is also included, so you’ll be nice and toasty during your time here.
The Estate offers a peaceful and scenic spot to fish for Brown Trout or Salmon on the River Don.
Alford is nearby, it's pretty market town with a good selection of shops and eateries. We are a bit off the beaten track, but not too far. There's a shop just 1.5 miles down the road and a pub and restaurant a little bit further on (5 miles)
The Central Garage and Shop in Glenkindie and The Spar shop in Ballabeg are both open sevend days a week. Supermarkets are a little further away, there's a Co-op in Alfor (14 miles away) or Aboyne (19 miles); it's a little bit further to Huntly (21 miles away) where you'll find Asda and Tesco.
