Why guests love it here

We are idyllically located on the very edge of The Cairngorms, where five of Scotland’s highest mountains lie. So adventurers can explore the fantastic walks, hikes, mountain-bike trails and nearby ski resorts. Enquire about salmon and trout fishing on our own beautiful stretch of the River Don.

It is a haven for wildlife here. So during your holiday you could well see some deer, red squirrels, fox, otters, many protected raptor species and more.

There are magical ancient forests to stroll through, full of legends and folklore to unveil. Whilst history and royal enthusiasts love visiting the regal landmarks dotted throughout Royal Deeside. They include Balmoral Castle and the Royal Lochnagar Distillery as well as several National Trust for Scotland properties.

If you’re staying here in late summer, the world-famous Lonach and Braemar Gatherings are amongst the many other Highland Games in the area worthy to add to your list. Then there’s a fair few whisky trails too. So plenty of experiences to be had throughout the year.
